CEDIA 2025: Innovation, Inspiration, and Family Vibes
There’s something electric about being surrounded by the best minds in the home technology world—and this year, that electricity was running high in Denver as the industry gathered for CEDIA Expo 2025.
But as much as we geeked out over the tech (and oh yes, we did), the real magic happened in the conversations.
It was incredibly meaningful to reconnect with our Guild partners—fellow firms at the top of their game—and to spend focused time as a company, sharing ideas, reflecting on our growth, and talking about what’s next for Precision Media.
📡 What’s New in the World of Home Integration?
The show floor was full of future-forward solutions, but a few themes rose to the top—many of which align with the custom, luxury projects we’re already seeing in Denver and beyond.
Here’s our high-level recap:
Integration Now Commands Serious Budget
A recent report confirmed what we’ve known for years—home technology is no longer an afterthought. It now accounts for nearly 20% of whole-home budgets, and that number is only growing. This reflects a larger shift: today’s homeowners expect their homes to work with them, not against them. And they’re budgeting accordingly.
Smarter Collaboration = Better Design Outcomes
A major theme this year was early collaboration. Builders, architects, designers, and integrators are no longer operating in silos—they’re working together from the start. This results in cleaner designs, fewer conflicts, and better integration of tech from the ground up. The takeaway? Don’t bring in your technology partner after drywall. Bring them in when you’re still dreaming.
Displays That Disappear (or Dominate)
Screens are getting bigger, sleeker, and more versatile. Whether it’s displays that blend seamlessly into walls or solutions that vanish entirely when not in use, there’s now a visual approach for every room. Even outdoor spaces are getting screen makeovers—with picture quality and weather durability that would’ve sounded like sci-fi just a few years ago.
Outdoor Living is the New Theater Room
From poolside AV systems to tech that supports outdoor kitchens, gardens, and dining areas—outdoor integration is no longer just a “bonus.” It’s a requirement for many of our clients. The systems we saw at CEDIA bridge the indoors and outdoors effortlessly, creating spaces that entertain year-round, rain or shine.
Voice + AI + Context = Seamless Living
Control systems have taken a huge leap forward this year, with intelligent assistants that can respond to plain spoken instructions. The systems we saw could adjust lighting based on mood, tailor audio for different zones, and even offer proactive updates or security alerts. It’s intuitive, contextual, and actually enjoyable to use.
Immersive Sound, Hidden Beautifully
Great sound is now as much about aesthetics as it is about acoustics. The newest systems deliver high-fidelity audio with near-invisible hardware—ideal for the minimalist, design-conscious home. From ceiling-integrated solutions to outdoor audio that blends into landscaping, the vibe is “feel it, don’t see it.”
Lighting as Wellness (and Wow-Factor)
The latest lighting systems do more than illuminate. They can mimic natural daylight, support circadian rhythms, and even create dynamic scenes that shift throughout the day. Smart lighting is now seen as both a health benefit and a design tool—something that boosts mood and resale value.
Training Makes the Magic Possible
What stood out behind the scenes? The deep commitment to education. We participated in hands-on trainings and live demonstrations that will directly impact the quality of the systems we deliver. Because while automation should feel effortless, it takes precision and expertise behind the curtain.
Infrastructure is the Invisible Hero
As always, the backbone matters. Every demo, every high-end solution—whether it’s video, lighting, audio, or control—relies on fast, reliable, secure infrastructure. At Precision Media, we continue to emphasize the unseen parts of the system: the wiring, the networks, the configurations. It’s not sexy, but it’s what makes everything work beautifully and reliably.
What Made CEDIA Really Special?
Aside from all the tech (which we loved), what truly energized us was the time together.
Time to sit around a table and throw out wild ideas.
Time to reflect on how far we’ve come as a team.
Time to imagine what’s next.
And time with our Guild partners—an extraordinary group of firms who don’t just push the industry forward, they raise the standard. Being part of this alliance isn’t just about prestige—it’s about shared purpose: to innovate with care, to communicate with clarity, and to build trust through excellence.
What This Means for Our Clients & Partners
If you’re planning a new home or looking to upgrade, here’s our advice, fresh off the show floor:
✅ Start early – Bring your integrator into the process during architectural planning.
✅ Design around technology, not around workarounds.
✅ Think outside the walls – Outdoor spaces deserve great tech, too.
✅ Embrace simplicity – Modern control systems are powerful and intuitive.
✅ Prioritize infrastructure – A beautiful home needs a reliable digital foundation.
